Out of Bounds Volleyball Club Parent and Player Contract
Out of Bounds Volleyball Club ("OOB") shall provide an opportunity for Girls/Boys to develop positive life skills through their individual and team volleyball skills. OOB is affiliated with the Southern Pacific Region of AAU Volleyball and offers opportunities to play on travel teams.
Every Player must follow the AAU Code of Conduct and is expected to adhere to the following OOB Guidelines. Every Player must be a member of the AAU and OOB.
Player Guidelines
Attendance. It is the responsibility of the Player to notify the Coach of scheduled events if the Player will be absent. Players are expected to arrive to practice ten minutes prior to the scheduled practice time.
Practices. Players must give notification of their absence within 48 hours of the scheduled practice, unless there is an illness or emergency.
1. Parents and players understand; Equal playing time is NOT guaranteed. Coaches have the responsibility of evaluating players during each practice and during tournaments.
PLAYING TIME IS EARNED! You as the parent and players understand you are fully responsible for all club fees if you quit due to playing time. It is expected that each Player gives his/her full commitment and 100% of his/her effort to his/her team. Failure to do so could result in less playing time. If there is a question about playing time, the Player is to set up a meeting time with his/her Coach.
2. Players must be "coachable" and willing to change his/her technical skills. Players are expected to hustle at all times during practice and at tournaments.
3. OOB will NOT tolerate foul language or rude gestures from Players towards other teammates, parents, coaches, officials or opponents.
4. During tournaments or any team event, Players will wear gear given by the team.
They can add other gear if they want. The gear will be jerseys, shorts, warm-ups (if included), and other other club gear part of the uniform package. Other clubs’ gear will not be allowed at practices, tournaments, or any other official club functions.
5. During tournaments, Players are encouraged to sit together, cheer on other OOB teams and scout opponents.
6. During tournaments, Players are required to"work"and will be responsible for officiating, score-keeping and line judging.
Each athlete, 11 years old and above, is required to become certified as a down referee, scorekeeper, assistant scorekeeper and line judge. No Player is permitted to leave a tournament site until all responsibilities are completed, unless instructed by his/her Coach.
7. Players shall not be disruptive or disrespectful (No Drama!) to the team in any manner while playing, practicing, traveling, or scouting other teams. Players who are found to be disruptive or who create any problems among the team at any time will be counseled by the Coach and/or the Director. After appropriate counseling, if the disruptive behavior continues, the Director reserves the right to dismiss the Player from OOB, indefinitely, without refund or release from financial commitment.
8. Parent(s) are responsible for having their player dressed in OOB gear at all tournaments at all times. OOB practices a zero tolerance policy. Any Player in the possession of drugs or alcohol during any OOB event will be dismissed from OOB, permanently, without a refund or release from financial commitment.
Parent Guidelines and Conduct
1. It is the responsibility of the Parents to understand and adhere to the attendance policy under the Player Guidelines.
2. Parents are responsible to inform their son/daughter's Coach and the Director of OOB, in writing, of all conflicts they may have with any and all practices and tournaments before the start of the season.
3. Parents are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner while their athlete is participating in OOB practices and tournaments. (No Drama) Parents are invited to attend all practices and tournaments, yet expected to be positive while in that environment. Parents that cannot follow these rules will be asked to leave the gym during all practices and competitions.
4. No Parent is allowed to coach or attempt to coach his/her athlete during any practice or tournament nor are Parents allowed to be on the gym floor during tournaments or practices unless requested and have proper credentials.
5. Parents are expected to have the athlete attend all scheduled tournaments unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director and the Coach. Refusal to attend tournaments may result in a fine of $200. 15 and above Elite teams are expected to go to Nationals and other major tournaments. You need to make other arrangements for the player to go if you cannot go.
6. Parents may not discuss player/team performance topics before, during or after any practice or tournament play.
7. During tournaments, Parents are expected to be respectful of players, coaches, other parents, officials and the working team. Negative comments will not be tolerated. If there is a concern, Parents shall not approach the Coach about the concern, but are requested to set up a meeting with the Coach and the Director of OOB to address the concern.
8. Parents shall not be disruptive to the team in any manner while playing, practicing, traveling, or scouting other teams. Parents who are disruptive or who create any problems among the team at any time the Director reserves the right to dismiss the Parent and Player from any OOB events, indefinitely, without a refund.
9. Players will be the communication between Parents and Coaches. The Player will address their issue with the Coach directly. The Parents will not directly approach the Coach. The Parent can reach out to the Club Director and shall wait 24 hours (THIS MEANS YOU) to speak with the Club Director about an issue that has upset the Parent.
This cooling off period will allow Player, Parent, and Coach time to think about the issue.
10. Disputes with OOB will be handled between OOB and contracted club members. There is no refund for quitting the team at any point during the season and full payment is required. You will be responsible legally for full payment regardless of payment plan as dedicated resources and planning goes into creating a great club season. Team planning, gym, retail, training, equipment and tournaments fees are paid in advance and most often not refundable. YOU are making a full commitment financially and physically.
By agreeing, you are fully committing you as a parent or guardian to all physical and financial responsibilities as described in this player parent contract.
Payment Policy
There are no verbal contracts. We will only accept payments by debit and credit cards.
Travel and player equipment are not included in the price.
Refund Policy
There are NO refunds after you have committed to the team/season. Injuries are unfortunate and unpredictable. We have many expenses that are paid up front so we have to cover those expenses.
In the event of a Player sustaining an injury and if the Player will miss time but can return, the injury refund does not apply. If however, the Player cannot physically play (with a certified doctor’s note) at any point for the rest of the season, then the Club Director will work with
Parents for a qualifying refund not to include tournament costs, uniform package, and time participated thus far into the season.
Payments will be considered late if payment is not processed on the agreed upon day. We will be using auto-pay on a credit/debit card. No cash, checks, money orders will be accepted for payment plans.
If payment is received after the agreed upon date, there will be a $80 late fee added for each late payment. If Payments are made by the agreed upon date, the Player will NOT be allowed to practice or attend tournaments until payment is made. The Director of OOB will notify Parents of any late payment and that the Player may be suspended until payment is made current.
By agreeing , you are fully committing you as a parent or guardian to all physical and financial responsibilities as described in the player parent and financial contract. You understand and agree there is no acceptable reason for quitting your child’s assigned team.
Players and parents are responsible for sizing on their jerseys and gear needed for their player.
By signing this Contract, you are agreeing to adhere to all OOB Guidelines, payment policies, conduct policies and all Policies Parents and stated above.
Failure to comply with one or more of these Guidelines and/or Policies will result in immediate dismissal from OOB, without a refund.
Release and Waiver:
I give my permission for the above named player to participate in The Out of Bounds Volleyball Club. I understand that volleyball is a limited contact sport that involves jumping, running, and ball handling in a confined playing area and injuries may occur. I acknowledge that even with the best coaching, the use of the most advanced protective equipment, and strict observance of the rules, injuries are still possible. I hereby authorize OOB staff to act for me according to their best judgment in any emergency situation requiring medical attention and I hereby waive and release The Out of Bounds Volleyball Club and director’s, Board Members, and staff from any and all liability stemming from any injuries or illnesses incurred while participating in the club. I understand, agree, and acknowledge that some activities may be of hazardous nature and/or include physical and/or strenuous exercise or activity. If any injury is sustained and requires hospitalization, I understand that I or my medical insurance company is solely responsible for any and all bills and claims that may be filed as a result of the injury. With full understanding of these facts, I state that to the best of my knowledge, my daughter listed above has no medical, physical, mental, or emotional health conditions that would hinder or prevent her participation in OOB Volleyball Club.
Miscellaneous
The rules and regulations included in this Agreement are NOT inclusive. Amendments to OOB rules and regulations may be made from time to time as necessary. On all questions regarding the interpretation of and application of OOB rules and regulations, the decision of the Directors of OOB shall be final. I, the Player and/or the Player’s parent or legal guardian, have read, understand, and freely accept this agreement as written and indicate so by my agreement of this document.
